Social Contributions

We believe very strongly in supporting and giving back to our community. On the weekend closest to 10th of June every year we have an open day on the anniversary of the Tarawera Eruption. People can visit to the Buried Village for a gold coin donation which is then donated to a chosen charity or group.

We are also committed and passionate about to helping out the community. We support many Community Groups and schools through sponsorship and have contributed prizes to these organizations and events within the past year

"We found our visit here was a deep dive into the past which was almost magical! Highly recommend to people who enjoy history / cultural trips. The staff are lovely, informative and very helpful - same goes for the cafe staff!"

"Very well presented and interesting exhibit of a real event in history. Staff are great and there is an excellent café. If you feel energetic the walk to the waterfall is really worthwhile."
